July 12

Artists’ Flea Market and Helpful Hints

We’ll split our time between two events—First, an artists’ flea market and sale like we did a couple of years ago.  Second, a chance to learn about any painting tips you might had.

Bring your books, brushes, and equipment that you no longer use to sell or swap.  Please mark everything with your name and price.

Come prepared to share your painting tips, tricks, or helpful hints you’ve learned.

For more information, email Marjorie Wuestner at delawarewatercolorsociety@gmail.com.

June 7 Gestural Figure Drawing

The term "gesture drawing" means somewhat different things to different people,
but the defining characteristics are that the drawing is done quickly and that its
purpose is to capture the essence of subject, rather than to present a realistic
rendering of details. The speed and style of gesture drawing allow you to effectively
capture motion and to sketch out the general character of something in motion
(people, animals, etc.).

Using visual presentations, you will have the opportunity to draw simple figures in a variety of poses. Bring your sketch books and drawing equipment.

February 9 Open Critique

Here’s your chance to critique your work with input from others. We should all be able to recognize the best and worst of our paintings and what little fixes we need to make to be happy with our work.

Bring two or more paintings, finished or in progress, that you think can be improved upon, and we will discuss and provide positive feedback and guidance on as many as we can get through.

This process will give you new insights into your own work and you’ll also get to see what other artists are doing.

Check out the flyer!
