Poppies by Anne Crown-Cyr DWS offers a two-tiered paid membership of Associate and Artist members.

Associate members are those who pay their annual dues and thereby participate in all of the events and activities DWS offers--juried shows, workshops, Second Tuesday meetings--and who receive the monthly newsletter.  Associate members may apply for Artist member review and signature status in April and October each year.

Artist members are those who have been juried and approved to use the initials “DWS” after their signatures. Signature-level status is a valuable credential that gives additional importance to an artist’s stature.  This widely recognized, significant honor denotes the highest level of artistic proficiency within DWS.  Signature-level status identifies and designates those artists who consistently demonstrate a high degree of creativity, knowledge, and skill in watercolor.

To retain Artist member status, the member must also remain active by exhibiting with the Society at least once a year. Abstaining from such exhibits means removal from membership and the need to re-apply.

Membership Dues
Membership dues are payable each year on January 1. Membership is automatically terminated for members who do not renew their dues during the designated time of the year. To be reinstated, they have to fulfill requirements again.
